Me and the kids

It is rare to get everyone of them together especially as the older ones age and are becoming young adults. We all got together to let Etta open a birthday present from Granny and to just catch up. Everyone is growing....

Eliot's thought

Eliot has been dreaming and thinking of a tree. It isn't quite a nightmare but she wants the dream to stop. We decided that if she drew a picture of it and we burned it in my cauldron it would help dispell the negative feelings.  So far it seems to have worked. ...

Another custom Blessingway Bead order

I enjoyed putting together yet another custom bead order. It is nice to think I have a role in other women's births even if we are strangers.

Happy 1st Birthday Etta!!

One year ago we barely made it to UAB for Etta ' s delivery. I should have just had her at home. She is a unique baby and may be our last baby. This last year has held a lot of challenges for her and us all. May her next year hold promises...

New Moon gathering with the family

I found a wonderful blackboard candle that you can write on with chalk. What a great way to share a message with the universe.  I chose a round black candle for the Chalice. Along with representations of the elements and a black Mother candle we welcomed new beginnings tonight. Eliot and Elaina ran around the yard l8ke wild children. Evan and Ben took a look and stayed inside most of the time. Etta nursed in my lap. It will be Etta ' s birthday and Bread Communion at church tomorrow so a lot to celebrate. ...

Smashing Pumpkins (not the band) After Etta ' s Appointment

Etta is still a tiny baby... she weighed in with her diaper at 15 pounds 12 ounces and 26 inches long at her visit today. She is officially off the charts. Her nurse practioner is pushing for feeding therapy with a clinical OT but the waiting list around here is really long. I don't think Etta can handle it developmentally and I am not confident it will help. We already try all those things at home. She just doesn't want to eat everything in sight like some babies but she does eat and nurse all the time. She has fat rolls. She is just really compact. All her other milestones are stuck months behind why would her eating be any different?  That being said it was a beautiful afternoon so what to do what to do.....

We smashed all the pumpkins and squashes left over from Halloween.  The kids had a blast. We spread seeds throughout the yard. We shall see what pops up next year. The green squash / pumpkin was surprisingly sweet when we gave it a taste.

Working some magic....

I organized some of my herbs and plants. I gathered some old to burn and restocked some containers.  I also cleaned up some objects. I am very fond of my individual chalice / cordial collection.  There is even a moonstone hiding in one.

Order up....

Three of my Mother Goddess bracelets sold today in my Etsy shop. I wonder where and with whom they will end up.......

Desperation

I am supposed to be the strong one. I fix everything. I am in charge. I want to give up. I work too much. I should be thankful for my jobs but I miss my family.

Yesterday

I was so busy living yesterday that I didn't post about it...

Fun at church and at home. Evan, Connor, and Danny are missing from the pictures but they were at their homes with their dads....

Penguin Party at the library

The five youngest of my brood got to break ice burgs, eat snacks, and decorate some crafts. I think it is pretty cool that my kids were confused by blue juice (Kool-aid) that was arctic water. They knew it wasn't natural. They didn't even eat all the cookies and candy given out.

Full Moon Fun

We had a very informal family bonfire and full moon celebration today at our church's fire pit. The kids had fun. The moon rose beautifully.  The night wasn't too cool even though it rained earlier. All in all it was nice.

Gourd

The bright green gourd that decorated the porch has dried out. The kids helped me cut it open and remove the seeds. We tossed the seeds into our wild area. Maybe we will get some gourds growing next years. I cut a hole in it and placed it in the large shrub the kids like to climb. Maybe a bird will make a nest in it next Spring. ....

Saturday fun

We headed to Chilton County today. We found a nice playground for the kids to play at. My main goal though was to find a harvested cotton field so the kids could pick up some left over raw cotton. They had a lot of fun. They explored the field and we even brought cotton wood and roots home. We planted the roots and dug out some seeds. Let's see if we can't grow our own cotton....

I took the rest of the sunny afternoon to work on some sachets for a garland idea I have in my head for a while. Eliot, Etta, and Elaina helped.

Happy 25th Birthday Lyn
