Using a borrowed carrier

A friend of mine let me borrow her Mei Tai baby carrier. Here I am trying it out with Elaina. I am really looking forward to her being big enough to wear her on my back. I love my ring sling but this one was so comfortable. It will work great for longer wearing sessions....

Sling carrying at the park

As always when I head out of the house with Ben I grabbed my favorite sling. He had fun while he was awake and then he settled down for a good nap when we went walking on the trails that make their way around the park and playground. I was able to help Dad keep up with Evan and Eliot. As we were eating lunch I spotted another mother with an infant. She was talking with friends and they were enjoying watching the kids play. The whole group walked to one of the trails and left the mom with the stroller behind. She sat on a bench and waited for her group to reemerge. I felt so bad for her. She seemed so alone. I just kept thinking that if she were wearing her baby she could have walked on the trails no problem. I thought of that again when I was walking the trails with my toddlers. They both wanted to hold my hand and I was able to with ease because Ben was secure in his sling. It was a great day.

Babyslings

A friend of mine stopped by work today to bring me some baby slings. I am a big fan of baby wearing. I believe it is important to keep your little ones close to you. My friend actually made two of the slings in the pictures. The black one Annika and Eliot tried is actually made to get wet. The black and white one that Lyn is wearing is more heavy duty for daily wear. The one Evan is actually trying to get into is a Wendy Bellissimo carrier. We use slings at work all the time to help parents position their infants and toddlers in therapeutic ways. Many children with special needs that either have low or high muscle tone benefit from being carried in slings. Not to mention it is just an easy way to have your baby or toddler with you as much as possible. I am counting down the days till my new little boy is here and ready to go for a ride in one of his new slings.

Cokes at work.....

I have been trying to drink less soda lately. A co-worker brought me a temptation. Thank you for the cokes.
