At the Book Fair with Annika
Sparrows of Creativity
I have a new listing up on Etsy.. Take a look. I enjoyed working with a friend to create this listing. Will make a great gift. If anyone local wants it I am happy to waive the shipping....
Go to Motherly Creations on Etsy to see more pictures and read more about the listing.
OK, I have to explain these
Early Intervention rocks when parents listen.... :)
Some children have really strong biting and oral stimulation needs. I explained to a mom how to use what you have to give your child safe appropriate items to mouth as needed. Aren't these awesome?
For my big girls
You have to look close to see the Volkswagons and their detail.

A hard day....
Today started out OK. I checked Annika out of school for her routine blood work. Not a big deal... She used to be able to handle needles and procedures fine. Over the last year or so and especially over the summer she has lost her knack to do well at the doctor's office. It is a mixed blessing. She hasn't had to go very often until the past few months while when she was younger she went more regularly. Not having to go as much was a good thing. Well, she had two episodes that I will leave open ended in definition this weekend. I won't call them seizures since she was not hooked up to an EEG but they were something. Well, at the doctor's office she went into full blown panic attack mode. I guess her anxiety part of her mood disorder is what we will be focusing on right now. The doctor and staff were awesome throughout all of this. Her doctor took the time to research her needs and come to a solution. At least a solution to try for now.....
As for the book pictured here it is one we picked up at the book fair when I checked her out. She is very excited to read it together. We started in the waiting room and she was still talking about it after her after school program. I find it fitting.... hopefully magical breadcrumbs can help lead us to answers and solutions for her...

Veterans Day
In any form or fashion I am thankful to the Veterans or current men and women in uniform.... Without them we would not have the freedoms we take for granted.
My Grandfather who is no longer with us in his Navy uniform. He served briefly right before the end of World War II.

Yes, I wore a uniform briefly. I got out of the Army when I was pregnant with Lyn. I was extremely proud of my decision to join and hope one day that at least one of my children will wear a uniform one day and serve their country.
Magical treasures
To find a friend who brings so much energy into my life is such a blessing. Items we come across in this world can hold so much meaning. They can be an old photograph. They can be the Fall leaves blowing in the wind. They can be the name brand shoes found at the thrift store that were $4.00. The meaning belongs to the person that holds it and loves it. This is how memories are made with items attached to them and why the smell of lavender and the color purple can remind us of or Grannies. Humans started to create cave drawings to give meaning to their world. And then thrift stores and yard sales came along and a simple chalice or pitcher found there can give a soul meaning for months on end because of the energy that has flowed from it to others....
Thank you friend.....

Fire walk to fuel the home fire....
7 of the kids and I went on a walk early this morning to collect firewood. Elaina was snug in her sling, Ben was complaining that his shoes got wet with dew, and the rest of the children loaded up their bags or baskets with wood and other fodder for the fire. We enjoyed a roaring fire that Lyn set. Connor placed some dried herbs from last season onto the fire with some help from the little kids.

Cokes at work.....
I have been trying to drink less soda lately. A co-worker brought me a temptation. Thank you for the cokes.
