I was happy to add a small personal touch to an essential oil order. Pretty on the outside and lemongrass EO on the inside....

Bringing a more natural feel to my class

I am enjoying working with my toddler class but I do miss the outdoors. I also really like to work with wood and non plastic toys. These birch rings and wooden nesting chicken with baby chicks in the eggs are a great way for the children to practice fine motor skills. The kids explored the wood and they had to open the eggs to get to the baby chickens. The kids really loved this activity. I think I may get some blank nesting dolls to color and use in a nesting / color center. I also brought some stones into the class for the kids to explore. They really enjoyed them. I think I am going to bring in some cotton I harvested last Fall for them to explore.

Lactation support home visit

 

I had the privilege of visiting a mother today for a second lactation support visit. I met the family when the little one was just a week or two old. Today at a weight check she had almost doubled her birth weight. The mother needed encouragement to know she was making enough milk. I left the home with a happy mama and a well fed baby.......

A day at the library.....

I took 5 of the little kids to the library and we met up with a friend and her daughter. It was a warm day so we played on the playground and inside. Etta really enjoyed the gear puzzle. I may have to put one on her wish list.

Snow Day

My job and the kids' schools are closed today. We have threat of snow in the area. The kids are really hoping for snow so Evan worked on a Winter snow blessing. He placed some rosemary and a small purple flower with the Winter Mother figure in the blue blessing bowl. The other little kids placed small containers around the bowl. Hopefully snow will fall. Evan put a lot of his own personal energy into collecting everything and placing this all in the yard. Let the snow fall.....

And so it did!! Right before everyone went to bed the snow started to fall. Blessed Winter....

Angelica root

My new mortar and pestle were used tonight to grind some Angelica root. I enjoy the essential oil but the actual herb is good to have on hand for various needs associated to women's reproductive health. I felt called to have Elaina's blessing Mother figure help inspire my herb work. The ground root was placed in alcohol to start the tincture process.

My Valentine's Day dates

I took Evan and Eliot to the library. I am so glad they don't miss a beat when the computers are taken they head to the board games. After we collected our books we stopped by Lyn's job to surprise her. Happy Valentine's Day....
