Eliot, my 11 year old, helped me practice with the new pins I got. First we started with a broad headband spread out then folded a thin dollar store thin scarf in half and pinned it in the back at her nape. Bobby pins or another pin could be used to stabilize it in front if needed. The colors chosen were just what was handy to practice. They work great and the pins were only a dollar from WISH.
