Happy Birthday Danny

I can't believe my son is 20 years old. He doesn't visit very often so this was a treat. We talked a lot and went out for sushi. Apparently Danny is into Swedish Death Metal. We got lucky and found a CD of a band he likes. Now, one might wonder why I am pretty happy about my son liking Death Metal. When your son is Autistic these moments of typical young adult behavior are so celebrated!!! And who else is the best companion to eat eel, squid, and salmon roe sushi with!!!!

When Mama is sick

No one is happy when Mama is sick. And, I have really been sick. I was in bed all weekend, left work after an hour yesterday and didn't go in today. I basically had to beg for a substitute for my class. I know it is difficult working with young children but no one wants a sick, dead on her feet, teacher taking care of their children. My co-workers helped and I got some rest. I hope I can make it in the rest of the week.

Ben and Me at the library

I snuck away from work early today. Bennie and I ran a few errands and made our way to the library. We found some great puppets for my class. Ben enjoyed himself on the computers as usual....

Ben lost both front teeth 2 days ago.

Lyn, getting ready for prom

She found her dress and shoes at the thrift store. $7... not bad. She went with an elegant classic look...

On a walk with Elaina...

A new journey...

This weekend I completed Doula training with ICTC, the International Center for Traditional Childbearing. I still have some things to do to complete the entire process such as paperwork, attending births,  some readings and more but this is a grand opportunity. I met some wonderful women and mothers....

World Autism Day and free diapers....

Most people know my oldest son has Autism. I never wanted a cure. I wanted what was best for him but I never wanted to change him. Today I just want to share that Autism is just a spectrum of the human experience. We need to be aware of the individuals with this diagnosis and how important they are to all of us....

With the love of my son in my heart and my desire to help others and my desire to promote my shop with a great opportunity today is a good day...

Go check out my page Motherly Creations to win some free diapers...
