Church planting on Halloween

A great alternative to Halloween activities is to attend a prayer meeting at the Hoover Extension of our church.

Really? Just a bad cold?

My follow up doctor's visit for my migrains ended up as a sick visit. No flu just a really bad cold. I honestly haven't felt this bad from a pesky rhinovirus for as long as I can remember. At least I got to talk to my regular doctor about my gallstones. He said I know exactly what to do. Eat better and loose about 20 pounds slowly. I had lost about 35 pounds really fast over a year ago, kept it off and then gained about 25 pounds really fast recently. That was the culprit. I just need to be more active. Cutting back on the sodas and junk food wouldn't hurt either. Maybe it is time to start finding time to go to the gym again.

Eli under the weather

Thank goodness for Super Granny. Eli had a bad cough and just a plain bad cold. For two days he got to hang out with Granny and his biggest sister. My baby is growing up so fast.

Old fashioned rag curls

Eliot wanted me to "tie up" her hair. Occasionally she asks for rag curls. I started it when we didn't even own a curling iron. We have an iron now but I need to get her some curlers. Just some cheap foam ones will do. But I actually enjoy the old fashioned simple way....

They turn out just fine with her thin hair like her Mama....

My classroom

I am enjoying my new classroom decorations.  Teaching K3 aged children about prayer is challenging. These visuals work well. I need to get them  laminated.

My essential oil choices for tonight...

It has been a long day. Two jobs back to back. Usually I work a third but I am actually at home in bed before 10pm tonight. I have gotten out of the habit of diffusing every night. I need to get back in the habit. Gentle Baby (a blend) and Davana just felt right. Night night....

Infat loss awareness

A candle for each of the babies I carried but never drew breath on this earth. I hopevto meet you one day.... infant loss awareness day was yesterday....

Discipleship anyone?

My friend, sister in Christ, and my mother in Christ (even though she is in her 20s), Amanda and I have been on a journey. She held my hand as I opened my heart and accepted Christ as my savior. She has disciplined me through several programs at church but discipleship never truely ends. This morning as I walked into work her husband, who has been a leader along the way, handed me a special little book. It is just the encouragement I needed to help me get back on track with discipleship with Amanda. Now, we need to carve out the time...

All because of HIM

The Pumpkin Patch

Etta went on a field trip to the Pumpkin Patch today. Eli could have gone but I didn't think he would do well. A few toddlets and preschool students stsyed at the school. I stayed with them. Etta had fun and we painted pumpkins and made our own pumpkin patch. It was a nice day. It is always special when you can spend time with your child at work. He had so much fun playing with Mr. Potato Head in my classroom.

Happy 25th Birthday Lyn
