For sleep and comfort...

After a 13 hour shift I tried to make it through church. I made it 2/3rds of the way through.  My eyes were closing and living a few blocks away I headed home and let 5he k8ds finish up classes.  I set White Angelica and Cedarwood on to diffuse. One for sleep the other for a private comfort.

Corn fritters

This is a new recipe I tried at work and they turned out really well. So when Evan and Eliot went grocery shopping with me we picked up the ingredients for it. All the little kids had actual hands in the mixing (Etta took a raw bite or two). After all the ingredients went into this vegetarian dish Dad cooked it up salmon patty style. There was a cilantro dill dip to go with it. I was stuffed. As usual most of my heavy lifting was done from my spot on the bed. At least we all enjoyed my new sheets from Granny...

My new Welsh Bible

I am drawn to Welsh because of all the romantic King Arthur books I read as a child and now because my younger kids have Welsh ancestery from their Dad. This book, this copy of The Word is old and frankly beautiful....

Now to try and read it...

I did find Elias Dafydd's middle name (David in Welsh)....

OK, world of friends and others.... I am on a mission to aquire scrap cloth appropriate for quilting. I found a great project to start that honestly could take me a decade to complete. I am willing to accept, trade, or barter for your quilting cloth. I have cloth diapers, dried herbs (dozens of plants), essential oils, and random knickknacks that I can use in barter. I have skills also.... in home lactation support for new moms, babysitting, and more.... Take a look at this find from the library. A book showing how to use quilt squares corresponding to verses in the Bible. I can't wait to get started.

Eye doctor...ugh

On one of my few days off I had to spend the whole day looking for an eye doctor that took walk ins. Walmart used to but apparently most locations don't have doctors only frames you can buy on site. Finally I ended up at the same place as 4 years ago. And, I was told my prescription hasn't really changed but I do need a little help with reading that could be solved with dollar store reading glasses. Really?! I can't see!!!! My vision has been off for a few months now. Something has to be wrong. Eliot was a trooper and my sidekick on this disappointing journey today. She did get two doll hats to decorate and a meal from Chick-fil-A so not a total bust....

Eliot, dolls, and socks...

Eliot made her doll some new upcycled panties and a headband that match her dress perfectly. All she needed was an old sock, some scissors,  and imagination...

And a peek on Pinterest :)
