Playing at the creek this evening. ...

It was a long day running errands but the kids were still rearing to go so we loaded up in the van again and played at the creek and the playground after dinner.

Etta is helping me open them. She is already wearing one.....

My new Very Hungry Caterpillar

I was given the opportunity today to use a planning period to make a reproduction of Eric Carl's Very Hungry Caterpillar.  I usually make one in every class I have. I was asked specifically by my director to make this one to improve the aesthetic look of the class where I spend half my day. I already rearranged the room to my liking.  I hope the co-teacher of the class doesn't feel like I am treading on her territory.  I have some more ideas for the room also. We shall see how they go over. So far I am enjoying my new job but I miss some of my old co-workers.

Wow... Sheerlume from Young Living

I didn't expect much from this cream. I ordered it to fill out an ER order and to try it. I am blown away. The feel, the smell, everything is just right. Perfect for my slightly aging skin :) !

Playing with clay

Homeschooling is awesome. Clay works include fractions and science. The life cycle of caterpillars was covered and parts of wholes were explored. I love natural learning that just happens. Of course Lyn may need some new sculpting clay when we are finished.  Eliot must miss Lyn
She is making a campfire for her. Lyn is still away at Leadership training at camp.

Happy 8 months

Etta is 8 months old today. Such a sweet nursling.

40 years old!!! (Well, yesterday was my birthday)

Happy Birthday to me....

Am I supposed to feel like a grown-up now? Even with 9 children when I think of "mother" I think of my mother. Except for a little extra weight (okay, about 15 pounds) and some aches in my hands and shoulder sometimes I feel the same as I did at 25. Okay,  maybe a bit more arrogant..... :)

Evan teaching Etta

The kids got out some of my Early Intervention toys and I showed Evan how to work with Etta showing her new things. What is awesome is that way back on this blog I have a post of Annika working with Ben with the same fishbowl. Kids are pretty awesome. ...

Getting back into the pumping groove

My job has been close enough to home that I have been able to go home to feed little Etta if I had a long shift. With a less than 8 hour shift I was able to just wait to go home. I have taken a new teaching position at an early school and have to pump on my lunch break. I miss my Etta but all will be fine.

Evan's cake

We were going to celebrate Evan's birthday today. It is actually tomorrow. I can't believe he will be 8! Lyn made him a strawberry cake by request but no one was in much of a celebrating mood today. He spent the night with Granny as a treat all by himself. I really wanted Annika and Connor to visit for his birthday but they refused. Annika came for Elaina's. That really upset me that she then chose not to come for Evan's. Evan really needs his big brother sometimes. I guess Connor just doesn't see this side of his family as family, Annika either. It is hard but letting go of children is hard.......

Etta reading at church

My sweet little one. She is growing but she still isn't where she needs to be. We have signed up for an Early Intervention evaluation.  We shall see where she stands so to speak later this month.
No matter what Etta is such a treat and such a unique addition to our family.

New oils KidScents

New order in..... I have been wanting these since I saw they were available at Young Living's convention this year. I got two sets. They are out of stock now so I am glad I was able to get two. I also got a small portable diffuser. Can't wait to use it. I wish I could use it at work in my classroom.

My Earth children and herbs... life is good

I collected some herbs and other plants for multiple purposes and wanted to hang them in my kitchen. Call it a bit of Kitchen Witch activity or plain fun either one works for me. Etta rode on my back as I harvested from my yard and common areas. The other little kids made a stone "castle" complete with a fireplace and food storage. Lyn collected some willow branches and made a wreath to dry to use at camp coming up. Love my Earth children....

Happy 25th Birthday Lyn

My oldest daughter is 25 today. She has accomplished so much in her life. I am so proud of her. She was such a delightful surprise when I wa...
