Ready for church

The littles are all ready for church. Etta even brought her baby doll. She had to let her smell the daffodils.

For a school project Eliot had to sew something.  She chose to make a doll skirt and shirt. Not bad at all. The skirt is actually reversible. Great job Eliot...

70 years

My mom is actually my hero. She is so lucky to have her birthday the day after Valentine's Day. Not!!! I am sure plenty of people tried to combine gifts or cards for her. She is the most unselfish person I know. How I turned out even a tiny bit of a decent human being I owe to her. It took decades for some of the lessons she taught me to sink in. Looking back I see how hard she worked outside of the home and at home to keep us from really knowing how poor we were. I remember sitting on a stool in the kitchen endlessly asking her questions about everything. And she always seemed to have an answer. I would tell her she knew everything but she denied it. She is so intelligent and beautiful. So many things were obstacles in her life yet she never stopped giving. She has 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild (my grand daughter). Today is her day. Again, I would not be here or be a shadow of the person I am without her being my Mother. Happy 70th birthday Mommy....

100th Day of school

Yep, when you find out 2 of your kids need shirts with 100 items on it the day before it is due you draft a teenager free during choir practice and hot glue away before your shift in the nursery starts. Then you just play...

School time

So great when your kids go to a small school and can intetact during the day. 6 kids at one school definitely helps with drop off and pick up and they can walk home if need be. The big ones anyway....

Book report time

Any excuse for Eliot to wear her favorite dress.  It is a vintage dress from the thrift store. She loves it. Her book report was on someone who her has mother has forgotten... yep.
