I created this blog to allow anyone who wishes to follow the life and times of Susan Betke-Campbell and her family.

Well, it isn't Coca Cola
And that says a lot....
I am trying. I can make this myself but I bought it mainly because, well I can be lazy. This is not to be confused with water with essential oils in it. It is herbal infused. Think of it as a very weak tea. I think I can actually make it by just adding a bit of clove, cardamom (one of my favorite herbs), and cinnamon to fresh water. That will definitely be cheaper. I am working on loosing some weight. I have always struggled with my weight. I had a few years in my 20s that I was really skinny. Too skinny actually. Then after 4 kids I was happy with my weight. Now I am heavier than that by about 30 pounds. I can blame age. I can blame the 5 pregnancies after that. I can blame the fact that I am still brteastfeeding. Frankly, the only thing worth blaming is my super lazy chocolate eating lifestyle. And not the good chocolate. Off the couch and out of the fridge....
Anger, Betrayal, Anger
You would think my husband did the unthinkable. No not that..... he cut my boys' hair. Evan and Ben have letting their hair grow out. They look a bit rough around the edges but I love it. Ben has had his hair buzzed twice and that has been his only haircuts. Evan has had more. But I came home yesterday to a "trim" upon my boys' heads. It isn't so much that they look like they have home haircuts right before school but that I was not consulted. The big girls did not get their hair cut. I should say that he cut Etta's hair a bit a while back too and denied it. I know I am controlling especially about my children. I am livid. Haircuts mean a lot to me. This will take some doing to let go of.

Not all carrier oils are boring
You can find Meadowfoam in a lot of beauty products. It is extremely smooth. I like to use it on my hands and face. Today I added the essential oil blend SARA to it for a nice rub.

Eliot's homemade face mask
Eliot used the leftoverers from my anti-flea powder, some coconut oil, and some clay to make a face mask. It turned out great. Her skin was so soft...
Etta's Early Intervention Evaluation
Etta has been enrolled in Early Intervention for a year now. She had her evaluation yesterday. She did very well. She still qualifies and has global delays but seeing my 20 month old tiny baby walking and playing is pretty awesome!!

Herbs versus fleas
Geranium, fennel, rosemary, and wormwood.....
Ground to a powder and sprinkled where you want to deter fleas.
A few pictures?
No a lot of pictures... I have had classes and office jobs where I have had computers where I could scroll pictures all the time. My current class doesn't offer that. Solution... take over a whole wall and door to display my family. It is a a pretty misfit family but they are mine.... So far my co-teacher hasn't complained.
My little teapot....
Nope, it is a puzzle. OK, I tried working on this last night. The kids especially the two youngest tried to help too much. With so many hands helping I wasn't able to give it my undivided attention. It is an awesome toy / meditation tool. That is what adults call puzzles, clay, and coloring books right? ;)

Swimming again...
Sunday mornings are the best for swimming. The pool isn't crowded and the weather isn't too hot....
Who said taking 7 children to the pool by yourself is hard? Well, the big girls helped a lot. Annika had a great weekend with us.
