Making Firestarters for a client...
I had a new order from my Etsy store for some fire starters. These included rosemary, lavender, raw hand picked cotton, white sage and pine straw. I collected the materials then roll them all together into craft paper or newspaper. They smell wonderful!!!
Dandelion harvest
I got a call from school tat Ben was sick with a fever. I went to pick him up. He did not have a fever but public school seems to be able to make up their own rules. I was not able to argue the matter. Kindergarten is not even mandatory. Ben's teacher is inexperienced in the worst way. I honestly believe that everyone has to start somewhere in their career but she is horrible at her job. I have been unhappy from the beginning. He will more than likely be withdrawn tomorrow from public school. I wish I had the money and time to drive him to a Waldorf or Montessori school. The options in our area are just too slim. Homeschool it is....

Phographing the elusive 13 year old!!
I joined Annika in the unused nursery classroom as she read her book during the service today. The little kids were in their classes. There aren't a lot of kids Annika's age at the UU church. Her best friend has invited her to visit her church. Hopefully she will be able to visit next Sunday. Annika has more of a connection with the Christian tradition. Connor asked me last week what I believed. I tried to explain being a church going Atheist but he could not quite understand it. He identifies as Atheist himself. I see I need to explain the principles of Unitarian Universalism to him....
A reading with my new deck....
This 3 card reading was interesting. It definitely speaks to me as a current, planning, and goal reading. The goal represented in the 3rd card is not complete so that speaks volumes to me right now as I am struggling with a lot of choices.....

Saying goodbye....
Last week was my last week working as a full time teacher. I will still be substitute teaching but I will focusing more on family and Nursing school. Some of these children I have taught since they were little infants. Some of my co-workers got together and gave me a few cards, a cake, several coca-colas, and a farewell poster. The top picture speaks volumes... I will miss them all.
Reading material for a Doula training opportunity
I am really looking forward to a Doula training coming to Birmingham. I was lucky enough to get a scholarship to attend. I can't wait to dive into the reading material.
Winter sun on our cloth diapers....
I have missed hanging my cloth diapers out in the sun. It was a cold but sunny day. I like this hanger. It is heavy duty and holds a lot....

Merry Imbolc....
Changes at this time between Winter and Spring. I didn't quite do all I wanted to do today but I did get some of my personal space set up at home..
